Meet the Team
At Rayonier, our Hunting and Rec Team is made up of a group of individuals who are passionate about all things related to hunting and the outdoors. From stalking Rocky Mountain Elk in Colorado, to duck hunting down in the Mississippi Delta, to chasing Osceola Turkey in North Florida, to slamming Reds in the bayous of Louisiana, to sailing in the Atlantic, to participating in competitive trapshooting, to training for a marathon, this group of outdoor enthusiasts are dedicated to helping you find and share similar experiences.

George Brulotte manages the hunting and recreation program in Washington State. He has a degree in Wildlife Biology from Washington State University and an MBA from Pacific Lutheran University. He is a long-time hunter and fisherman and enjoys backpacking in the Cascade Mountains.

Matt manages the hunting and recreation program for Rayonier’s Atlantic Region (FL, GA & SC). He holds undergraduate degrees in Forest Management and Forest Technology from the University of New Hampshire. As a forester working for large landowners, he has spent time managing lands in nine different US states. Matt enjoys all outdoor activities and extensive travel with family.

Alana is a Business Development Technician from Alabama, where she enjoys whitetail deer hunting and horseback riding. Alana assists in the Gulf States (AL, LA, AR, TX, OK) Hunting and Recreation program. She holds a Bachelors of Arts from Huntingdon College.

Ken is a Business Development Manager for Rayonier's Atlantic region, which covers Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management. Ken is a recreational enthusiast and spends his free time hunting, fishing, and enjoying the great outdoors.

Barlow Smith is originally from Southeast Texas where he first discovered his passion for hunting and the outdoors. He later moved to Florida where he attended Florida State University and graduated with a Bachelors in Environmental Studies. Barlow currently manages all marketing and sales for the hunting and recreation program in addition to Rayonier’s beekeeping business. Depending on the season, you can find him participating in a variety of hunting and outdoor activities to hanging on the beach and vacationing in the mountains with his family.

Justin Thayer manages the hunting and recreation program for Rayonier's Gulf States Region (TX, OK, AR, LA, AL). He holds both Bachelor and Master's degrees in Wildlife Management from Louisiana State University. Justin's graduate research focused on white-tailed deer, a species he enjoys pursuing, researching, managing, and conserving. From the marshes of South Louisiana to the hills of West Texas or the Dakota Prairies, there's no place Justin won't travel in search of a good hunting/fishing adventure.
